Simon Brodbeck is an Indologist specialising in the Mahabharata and Ramayana, the so-called “Sanskrit epics”. He has a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Cambridge, and an MA and PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. He has worked at Cardiff University since 2008. He is co-editor of Gender and Narrative in the Mahabharata (Routledge, 2007), author of The Mahabharata Patriline (Ashgate, 2009), and translator of Krishna’s Lineage: the Harivamsha of Vyasa’s Mahabharata (Oxford University Press, 2019).
