Dr Mohammed Malik is a lecturer in psychology at Nottingham Trent University, UK. His research is located in the area of men’s body image, masculinities, qualitative research and health psychology. He has recently published a paper exploring the body image experiences of middle-aged men, which is also considered first of its kind given the severe lack of body image research in men over the age of 30. Dr Malik is currently involved in a cross-institutional collaboration with Dr Ashley Morgan from Cardiff metropolitan university, where they are working on a series of research projects looking at the unexplored aspects of men’s body image, including the impact of male pattern baldness and beards on men’s body image and sense of masculinity.
