Candice (she/her) is a Lecturer in Psychology at Leeds Trinity University, UK. Her research interests surround men’s health and wellbeing. In particular, Candice is interested in the influence of social discourses of masculinity on men’s experiences and how dominant social ideals of masculine behaviour are drawn upon and negotiated by men in their everyday lives.
Candice’s work to date has focussed on the role of masculinity in young men’s body image and appearance-related matters and is currently exploring the development of men’s body appreciation. She has a keen interest in developing methods which circumvent barriers to men’s engagement in research surrounding potentially sensitive issues, as well as the use of creative and accessible dissemination of research findings.
